Process Automation Specialist Superbadge - 4

A tactic that worked well for tonight's challenge was to print the Trailhead "Create Sales Process and Validate Opportunities" video transcript and make a note, next to each section, with what overall steps are needed.  For example, I noted "opportunity stages, sales process, opportunity record type, validation rule, etc."  This ensured that I did not miss a step. Lighning setup search = awesome! I started in the object manager under the Opportunity object in order to include the new "Awaiting Approval" stage.  I deactivated all unneeded stages then crafted the Sales Process, incorporating the opportunity stages then record type.  It may not be necessary, but I made sure to apply the each record type to the correct layout that corresponds with each profile. Opportunity Layout that corresponds with each Profile To set up the approval process, I created a checkbox field, making it "read only" for all except System Admins and

Process Automation Specialist Superbadge - 2 & 3

Salesforce Trailhead - Process Automation Superbadge continued... I took the validation rules created on the Lead object and tweaked them for Accounts. Accounts have two address fields- billing and shipping - 4 total validation rules are needed. The rules should apply to new records only, so the formula must be adjusted. 5th validation rule!    HINT : I used "AND" and "ISNEW" Next up, another validation rule, but this time, the validation rule is on a field within the account object.  Number of Won Deals - field After all of these validation rules, I was ready for a snack.  I hid my laptop under the blanket and called for mom.  She brought a bottle of milk, and, after a few sips, I was ready to create some fields.  4 out of the 6 new fields are roll up summary fields with various conditions.  The win percent utilizes 2 of the newly created fields in a formula.  Highlight below for a hint:  IF(Number_of_deals_c > 0, (Number

Process Automation Specialist Superbadge - 1

I was very excited to read through the instructions for the Process Automation Superbadge and discover that it is about a robotic company.  I love robots, especially my favorite robo-vac.  Why?  I can chase it!  I have been trying to catch the robo-vac since I was 4 months old.  Now, as a mature, fast crawler, I can trap it in a corner.  I have to be careful though, because robo-vac does not like to be caught and will start  beeping.  Then mom comes...and the fun is over. I started this Superbadge in the usual way, by printing this instructions plus the slides and transcripts of the videos.  It is highly recommended to print the video transcripts, because there are a multitude of brief instructions that are easy to overlook while watching.  I also had to keep the volume on my laptop off while doing the challenge- just in case mom was listening in over the baby monitor.  If you are a new Trailhead Baby fan, all you need to know is that I'm a regular baby by day but a daring

Reports & Dashboards Specialist Superbadge- 4

Walking practice Tonight is my final evening with the Reports and Dashboards Specialist Superbadge!  There are only 2 challenges left, and I hope to finish quickly in order to reserve a few hours to practice walking.  I have been standing for a while, but it is time to let go of the crib rail and take a step.  It would be embarrassing to practice and fall in front of Mom, as I am certain that she will take a video. Challenge 5: Create contact and hobby reports Refer to "Reports & Dashboards Specialist Superbadge - 2" if you are just joining me.  I was in the "report mood," so I configured all of the reports on night two, including the three that required a custom report type. Challenge 6: Reports and dashboards security I did not remember how to share a dashboard, so this article from help.Salesforce.com  was useful.  Next... Moved the reports / dashboards into the specified folders. Created the Exec R&D public group  Introduced myself to Ca
