Thank you to Emily Y for the nifty presents!  It was very exciting to get a package!  Usually all of the packages that come to my house are for mom- with boring things inside like diapers or clothes.  I felt very special to get a package just for me! I read the book today during snack time.  I tried to use the bottle, but I could not figure out how to make it work.  It seems to have a leak, but it's still pretty cool.  Mom says that I can't put the coffee in it until I figure out how to drink without spilling.  Coming soon.... posts about the newest Superbadge: Einstein Analytics Data Preparation Specialist! Almost done!  Deep breath...we can do this!  Today's post is short, so please enjoy a few of the "faces of my little brother." I feel inspired to volunteer by goats.  A park near my house has a petting zoo, and I have been a huge fan of these adorable furry animals.  I would like to volunteer to feed them once I am a bit older.  In the spirit of volunteerism, I'll volunteer a hint for the Volunteer Tracker app: Create tabs for volunteer custom objects before creating the app.  Search for "tabs"  If you are having trouble adding the lightning app page to your lightning app, peruse this article: Create Lightning Page Tabs  - You can only create a tab for one type of lightning page! Apparently the coffee was not strong enough this morning... error messages galore! (And I made a mess with breakfast!)  The part that makes me feel silly?  All of the superbadge error messages can be avoided by a careful reading of the instructions.  I hope you find my errors helpful!  Do you have an error that isn't listed?  Leave a comment, and I'll take a look! Creating custom report types- remember to deploy!  If you do not deploy, you can see the report as an admin...but nobody else can! This is a helpful error message if you are having trouble showing records only applicable to a particular volunteer.  This error message is incredibly frustrating! I played with the report for a few hours before finally having a "eureka!" moment!  The secret is in the instructions: "...create a Summary report grouped by Volunteer Organization showing each organization's cumulative hours and no other columns." "No other columns"

Let's talk about being signed up without your knowledge.  This new big brother thing- I was definitely signed up without my knowledge or input!  Today I tried to talk with him about the waking up at 4am business.  It is not acceptable to be up so early, particularly on Saturday morning.  He just looked at me and gurgled.  I am big enough to use a step stool now, so I am going to go make some coffee....after I make a block tower. I made an error in the approval process by incorrectly selecting who should approve the request.  To avoid, think about who is triggering the request- a person who signed up their friend.  Who needs to approve?  The volunteer.  This message can indicate many things!  An error with the approval process or an issue in the "Launch Shift Approver" can trigger this.  In my case, I ma

Tricky fields.  Like my tricky little brother, these are a bit confusing.  I thought he was taking a nap, and I would have at least 20 minutes to play with mom.  Nope! He woke up after 15 minutes and wanted to eat.  Again.  I wonder how he eats so often!  I'm a big fan of snacks, but not every half hour! Shift End Time The field itself is not tricky, but you also have to build a rule with corresponding error message.  Note- After creating the rule, I had to deactivate it in order to pass the challenge. Shift Hours This is the field that left me scratching my head for a few minutes.  Key terms: "the number of hours a shift lasts."  Subtracting a end time from a start time will not give the required value.  You need a way to convert this to hours.  (This field is incorporated into other fields, so make sure you have it right before moving forward!  I did not, and had to re-do the corresponding "Total Vol Hours for Shift", "Shift Hours"- the sec
