Billing Specialist Superbadge - 11, 12, 13, 15

How did you do on your Billing Specialist quizzes?  It only took me 10 tries or so....  Trailhead Baby is a little embarrassed to admit it, but I usually just click around on the quizzes until I pass. Anyone else?  For normal Trailhead learning, I read each question with a goal of really mastering the concept, but for Superbadges, I just can not pause to click around when there are real life challenges to conquer! This step seems very complicated when you read the instructions, but it is actually a simple as adding a few fields.  You can do it! Trailhead Baby is stuck.  Totally and completely stuck.  The invoicing part of the challenge went perfectly - and this article was a huge help to create the credit: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=blng_credit_notes.htm&type=5 It is time for a nice glass of chocolate milk and a few cookies... .I'll have to tackle step 15 another  day!

Billing Specialist Superbadge - 6, 7, 8 , 9 , 10

I woke up before dawn this morning to help Mom sort out out the pom-poms.  I do not understand why Mom keeps all of these tiny balls in a plastic bag when they should be appropriately sorted by size and color.  It bothered me so much last night, that I had to get up early and fix this mess.  Since I am up, let's get back to the Billing Specialist Superbadge with some tips for steps 7, 8, and 10. Step 7 requires a bunch of little steps in order to pass!  Fortunately, the instructions for this step are clear but require a very careful reading.... Are you looking for a few hints? There are two, let's call them, "high level" checkboxes to tick. A global picklist set is always better when you want to use the values more than once. The process builder part is one field update.  If your process is more complex, research why there is a checkbox on quote to indicate that the quote has been ordered.  The instructions are not very clear, so I wi

An Administrator's No-Code, One Day, Salesforce CPQ Migration (1)

There are two words to explain why a perfectly rational Trailhead Baby would decide to perform an impromptu Salesforce CPQ migration.  Those two words are: Step 15.  I am totally stuck on step 15 of the Billing Specialist Superbadge, and hesitate to make any changes to my org lest I have to start the whole superbadge again from step 1.  Fortunately, the solution is simple: Backup the current Trailhead Playground ("old") Migrate to a new Trailhead Playground ("new") Check that my new Playground is accurate Mess with the new playground until I think I have the right settings to pass step 15. Change my original playground to match. Pass step 15. If you are familiar with the Billing Specialist Superbadge, you need quote #15 to pass.  I did not want to corrupt quote #15, because this is an autonumber field that can not be overwritten. The only option is to pass the first time, but to do so, I needed an environment to play with that is not related to my orig

Billing Specialist Superbadge - 3, 4, 5

Never give up! Not on the Billing Specialist Superbadge. Not when Mom says I have to go inside Keep on trying, and you can finish this badge! For a subscription product, you need both the length and the term.  The "term" field just might be located in a related list that makes it hard to find! Trailhead Baby considered giving up on this step.  I am new to CPQ - and - being 3 years old have never paid taxes.  I started by looking up "what are taxes" then finally stumbled into these: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=blng_standard_tax_setup.htm&type=0     https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=blng_tax_calc_config.htm&type=5 Read the articles from start to finish! They basically give a walk through for step 5!   A hint?  The "Tax Code" number is crucial.  It is what ties the Tax Rate to the other three objects.  (Oh! I bet that 3 objects is a good hint too!) Leave a comment if you would like some h

Billing Specialist Superbadge - 1 & 2

This Billing Specialist Superbadge is like learning to make coffee for the first time.  You dump out the grounds and grab a filter.  It's a huge mess and somehow the grounds end up everywhere..    Then, you remember that everything needs to be put into the coffee maker, but wait, add water!   You dump it all in and quickly realize there there really is a logical order to making coffee.  It is not hard, but there are steps that must be followed in the correct order.  CPQ is a lot like making coffee.  Once you understand the steps, this superbadge is not too hard.  Before you see the steps, it's a mess! In addition to the Trailhead Baby's normal tips, I will share a few of my favorite resources for each step in the challenge.  If you are stuck, check out the "steps" in the resource, and it should be much easier!  Having trouble with step 1?  Trailhead Baby's advice: Give up!  Go back to Trailhead and tackle a few more trails first.
