Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge - 7 & 8

Today's mission: Find a pirate treasure and finish the Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge! Did I find a treasure? Yes! Did I finish the superbadge? No! Trailhead Baby is still stuck at Challenge #9...but read on for some hints about steps 7 & 8. Here are a few error messages..... Want to get rid of this error message?  Create a Workflow rule. There should be two rule criteria. In Trailhead Baby's quest to trigger every possible error message... I did not activate my workflow rule before checking the challenge again....  (Who am I kidding? I simply forgot to activate the rule!) The secret to passing this step is these words:  ...when an invoice's due date is more than 30 days in the past More than 30 days... not 30!  Stuck?  Just write a comment with some details of what you have currently.  A pirate and Spiderman... looking for treasures in the sand....  Start step 8 by going incognito.  Trailhead Baby typically

Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge - 5 & 6

Today was a fabulous day.. I made a huge mess with shaving cream then decided to tackle the Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge instead of taking a nap.  I was very cranky later that evening.... Here's the error that you get when clicking "check challenge" without doing anything: If you are reading this blog, I expect that you've probably already checked out this thread on the Salesforce community... just in case you have not.... I found help for step 5 here: https://success.salesforce.com/answers?id=9063A000000eUHOQA2 Trailead Baby is very limited in what can be posted about this challenge, because it would be too easy to just give the answers away.   Here is one hint: If you have to decide whether to create a Revenue Schedule, the answer is always YES! Stuck? Just leave a comment with what you have... and you must might get a reply! Ready for step 6? Take a deep breath - This step isn't that bad.. One of Trail

Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge - 3 & 4

Trailhead Baby's quest continues- Complete the Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge on Trailhead while triggering every possible error message. Hopefully these errors will help you too! Let's start Step 3 with Trailhead Baby's favorite error message... The message that you trigger without doing anything but clicking... This helpful error message started me in the right direction to complete the step... create a GL Account record.  After I created these records, it was time to see what should be done next by clicking "check challenge" a second time....  Ah ha! A GL Rule is needed next! Which leads us into error 3.... I am a big fan of helpful error messages, but this is getting to be too much.  I suppose if I create all of the items listed in this, then I can pass step 3 of the superbadge?  Yes?  Almost! There is space for just one more.... I think that's enough error messages until after lunch.... Did you find any

Advanced Billing Specialist Superbadge - 1 & 2

What could possibly go wrong? After (finally) fishing in the Billing Specialist superbadge, Trailhead Baby decided to jump right back in with the Advanced Billing Specialist superbadge! This time, I decided that it would be fun to try to trigger every possible error message.  Why?  Why not!   Sometimes, the simplest approach to a superbadge is to start each step with a button click: Why? Usually this approach will help you get started in the step, even before you have completed any of the needed actions!  If you run into a new error message that I did not post, please let me know. Trailhead Baby is trying to trigger all of the error messages for this superbadge- just for fun.  Solution: Check the custom setting's "default" value.  It should be 18 digits starting with "a1p" that you copied/pasted from somewhere else.  Hint: Every record has a 18 digit value that makes the individual record unique.  Hint: There

An Administrator's No-Code, One Day, Salesforce CPQ Migration (3)

If you have been following the "No-Code, One Day, Migration" posts.... This is the second blog post dedicated to "Step 2: Migrate to the "new" Salesforce."  Why? It is hard!  Moving connected Saleforce data is tough, especially when navigating all of the objects in the massive Salesforce CPQ package.  Fortunately, we are almost there! The last step of Data Migration is making a tiny tweak in a database in order to turn an active consumption schedule into an inactive consumption schedule so that we can insert it. A quick summary of what we have done so far: Extract the "old Salesforce" to a H2 database Restored a bunch of metadata and data from the database to our "new Salesforc" Today's plan: Finish up the data restore then verify that the "new" Salesforce passes the same steps of the Billing Specialist Superbadge that the old Salesforce already passed! (AKA- Was my migration actually accurate?!). Ready
