On-Premises Salesforce Backup of Data & Metadata


Unless your business has a Salesforce backup strategy in place, this weekend may have been a little messy....   My mom asked me to post a quick blurb about her work since she can help!  

What Capstorm does: 
  1. Backup Salesforce to an on-premises or cloud based relational database.
  2. Restore records and metadata from the backup to Salesforce production or sandbox.

Why does this matter?

If there is ever a time that you are locked out of Salesforce, for any reason, the data is still available because the backup is kept locally on your servers.  Plus, metadata is also backed up and versioned, so you can restore a prior version of metadata from the backup.  A few more things you can do in addition to backing up Salesforce...

I started this superbadge a long time ago... it's time to finish it!  My goal is to complete this badge before my little brother starts to walk.  He's getting close... Challenge 2: Record-Level Security Settings I created the three user profiles last time, so the starting point tonight was the next tier of security - roles.  I set up the roles per the provided org chart, making sure to follow the opportunity restrictions from the directions. Next, I set up the required user and assigned her to the correct profile and role.
