Lightning Experience Reports & Dashboards Specialist Superbadge - 1

Trailhead Baby & cousins in the "toddler limo"

I went on a long "walk" today with my cousins in the quad stroller.  My mom calls it the "toddler limo."  As you can see, my little brother was not pleased with his seat and caused a fuss.  After the walk, he demanded mom's attention, so I sneaked off to my crib/office to start on the newest Superbadge: Lightning Experience Reports & Dashboards Specialist.

Report Folder Tips:
Nested Report folders is a new thing- as of Summer '18.  Learn more on the release notes.  The status bar is a big help:

Sharing folders? Do I go to setup? Sharing rules? Where do I click! If you are trying to remember how to share a folder, check out this article:

Error Messages:

If you get this message, or something similar, double check your syntax!  My mistake?  The R&D folder was named "Solar Bot R&D Reports."  The extra space between "Solar" and "Bot" caused an issue!

Another easy oops!  When the instructions say to remove 5 fields, you really do need to remove all 5.  Hint: You are not "removing" the fields from the object! Just from the custom report.

Need some help?  Leave a comment for the Trailhead Baby!

  1. I have an error message that I have not reallocated all the reports into the correct folders.
I have 1 deleted (there is no recycle bin in lightning) 2 in Sales folder and 1 in R&D.
I am assuming the deleted one is the issue?

    ReplyDelete
  2. Fortunately you can toggle back to classic and pull the report from the recycle bin.
The instructions are tricky. "Place reports to delete in the Report Recycle Bin folder." If blogspot had an option to underline words, I'd underline the word folder.

    Make sense?
Hint: You do not have to create a new folder!

  3. Hello! I have this issue: Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
We can't find a folder for Status Reports within the SolarBot Support Reports folder. Do you know how can I fix it? Thanks!!

    1. Did you create the nested folders?

      Delete
    2. I'm not the same person as above - but i have the same problem - Status Reports sits within SolarBot Support Reports folder. :/

      Delete
    3. likely a silly question -Could you verify that the "solar bots supports reports" folder is at the very top level and not nested inside another folder. (like "private reports")?

      Delete
    4. Changing the Status Reports folder unique name to "Status_Reports" fixed the problem for me.

However, I have the group set up...

    1. A silly question - Did you install the package? Also, could you verify that the public group is spelled exactly as the instructions state "Executive Team"? A common "oops" is a misspelling or something like "Executive Team Public Group"

    2. I am having the same issue. I am getting an error on that it does not find the "Executive Team" public group, but I do have it set up. And I copied/pasted the name from the trailhead instructions... Not sure how to resolve. TIA!

    4. Hello,

I am having this same issue. Were you able to help Laura resolve this?

      Thanks,

    5. Hi Paul-
The first thing I would try is to logout, wait 24 hours, then log back in and recheck the challenge. This method helped someone else get past this step- I expect because the public group was created two or more times and the "old version" is caught by the challenge check process not the active correct one. If this doesn't work, I'm happy to look into it further!

    6. Hey,
I was running into the same issue.
When I create a new Public Group, by selecting a Tab in an Application, it will fail to be shown in the Report Folder, Sharing settings.

If you create a Public Group in
      Setup|Public Groups,
they become available for Report Folder Sharing.

I was also having the same issue "Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
We can’t find the Executive Team public group described in the prework." But I can see Executive Team in public groups.

Did anyone know how to resolve this?

      Thanks!

  7. Hi there, is there any solution for the error below:
Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
We can’t find the four reports from the SolarBots Acquisitions folder reorganized into their new folders.

    1. The solution is to ensure that the report names are correct and in the correct folders..... I expect that either the folder names are incorrect or the reports are not in the correct folders.

      Delete
    2. That is not the case.
I have moved them to the correct folders. I believe the check step is checking a wrong name...

  8. Hello! Hopefully you can point me in the right direction.

    My error:

Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
The “SolarBots and Status Data” custom report type doesn't have the correct relationship between the correct objects.

My Report Type settings appear to be correct, but they're obviously not.

I have the label set correctly (SolarBots and Status Data) and the matching name (with the appropriate underscores). The category is set to Other Reports and deployment status is Deployed. I included the supplied description.

I have the object relationship set to:
    SolarBots (A)
^ with or without related records from SolarBot Status (B)
The Venn diagram shows a solid A and the B is shaded only in the overlapped section.

I removed the appropriate fields from the layout and have 14 available fields for SolarBots and 11 for SolarBot Status.

Any ideas where I should be looking?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Check the # of fields for SolarBot Status- I expect that you need 12 :)
      (Otherwise perfect!)

      Delete
    2. Per your suggestion, I added back the extra field I removed (I only did so because a few of the searches I did while trying to resolve this issue had 14/11 and I attempted to match their display), but it still fails with the same error.

I've decided to give up and become a monk, er.... to trash this playground and start over from scratch, as someone in the success forum suggested. If I still get stuck, I'll come back and bug you, some more.

      Delete
    3. I ended up creating a new playground (successfully passed the challenge, so thank you to the person in the Success forum who helped me!) and I've compared the two. These are really the only differences I found. Hopefully, if anyone else runs into this issue, they can check for this.

      SolarBot in Object Manager:
Fields & Relationships show a difference in one field:

good: SolarBot Name (this one is also marked as 'Indexed', while the other is not)
      bad: SolarBot

      SolarBot Status in Object Manager:

Details shows a difference in the Plural Label:
      good: SolarBot Status
      bad: SolarBot Statuses

Fields & Relationships show differences in the Field Lable Name:
      good: SolarBot Status Name
      bad: SolarBot Status

Unfortunately, I have no idea how I did this the first time, so I can't say 'avoid this'.

I just wanted to follow up here with you, too, to let you know I was successful.

    4. Hello! I also received the same error as Raymond after deleting and un deleting the same fields over and over again from the original sections. The fix I found was by creating brand new sections with the exact same info as SolarBots and Solarbot Status. Except don't add the five fields to the two new sections. Once you've built those, then delete the original two sections. I'm not sure why that worked but it did! Maybe a bug in the system? Hope this helps anyone receiving the same error.

Part of doing the Service Cloud Specialist superbadge is trying new things, so I am putting up picture of new things that I've tried recently.  One of my favorite new things this week was taking a shower with my whole block collection.  Mom put me in the shower, and I sneaked out to grab the block bin and dumped it in.  I'm concerned to share photos because of the slight nudity, however, I can assure you that it was a glorious adventure.  Instead, I'll share my favorite Saturday new thing- walking to the coffee shop for a sprinkle donut!  Back to the superbadge... Service Cloud Specialist Superbadge - 1,2,3

A confession - I know next to nothing about service cloud.  While I was excited that a new superbadge was available, it made me a little nervous that I had to do all of the prerequisites and tackle new things like macros.  New things - new year - let's get started!
