Lightning Experience Reports & Dashboards Specialist Superbadge - 2-4

Ice Cream time!

My mom did something incredible today.  She took me and my  brother on a walk- a normal afternoon activity- but added a surprise stop at the ice cream store.  It was wonderful!  A whole ice cream sandwich just for me.  After the walk, I received a rather vigorous scrubbing then off to a "nap" for trailhead time!

Sales Reports Tips:
Accounts Without SolarBot Opportunities
Picking the correct report type was tricky- for me at least.  Perhaps you are a reporting genius and picked the correct report the first time!  I started by thinking "which report will include the opportunities?" and tried report type 'Opportunity' then 'Opportunities with Products'.  Nope!  The problem with this approach: Some accounts may not have any opportunities!  These accounts have potential for SolarBots even though they do not have any opportunities currently.  Instead try a report type that starts with the primary object... then include the secondary object.  How?  Read this article.

SolarBot High-Case Candidates
Organizing the report can be tricky: "prioritize the list by the highest number of cases."
A hint- use record count!

SolarBot Warranty Call Sheet
Having trouble keeping "users from adjusting the criteria that determines which accounts are showng"?  Think- How do you determine what data is shown on a report?  Columns, of course, but you can also add these nifty items that allow you to select things like "my accounts" vs. "all accounts" and "last activity."  Confused?  This article should help: Filter Report Data

Support Reports Tips:
Top Case Drivers by SolarBot Ownership
Read the instructions carefully for this report... It's not terribly difficult, but there are lots of little quirks.  If you are having trouble eliminating the record totals, check out the "switch" style options at the bottom of the report creation page.

SolarBot Status Averages
There are multiple entries on each date for percent obscured, temperature, and kilowatt hours.  If only there was a simple way to group this data....

R&D Report:
If you get this error message, double check to make sure that you are not including extra information- like a sum of the column plus the average!

  1. Hello, may I ask you for a bit of help with #2? This is what I get right after creating and saving 'SolarBot Warranty Call Sheet' report:
Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
We can’t find a report with name 'SolarBot Warranty Call Sheet' in the correct folder, or it uses an incorrect report type.

I suppose report type here should be Accounts with SolarBots, but it doesn't work. Tried Accounts type just out of curiosity, filtered by number of SolarBots, still no luck...

    Thanks!
    Egor

    1. The report type "Accounts with SolarBots" is correct.
I'll assume that you have the report saved in the correct folder :)

Something to check- go to the report, "edit", the little arrow next to "save" - select "properties". Is the Report Unique Name: SolarBot_Warranty_Call_Sheet ? The challenge checking mechanism will frequently look for the API name (aka Unique Name) instead of the given Report Name.

If the report unique name is incorrect.... delete the report that has the correct API name but is the wrong report. (Or fix it report that has the correct API name to match the challenge requirements.) If the report has already been deleted- flip to classic and empty the recycling bin. The API name will be available for re-use after 24 hours.

      Makes sense?
Best of luck Egor! Feel free to leave another comment if you are still stuck!

    2. Thank you! Somehow I got a copy of a report with correct API name pattern saved to Private Reports and forgotten there. Deleted that one and got the report finally validated.
Seems like it is important for checking mechanism to not have any properly API-named reports in incorrect folders.

    1. My bet would be a filter is off. There should be 5 total filters with conditional logic.
I have two of the filters locked.

  4. I"m having an issue with this step as well...I have both Kilowatt hours and panel temps summarized as average and not sum...but I'm still getting the " The 'Temperature to kWh Research' report shows more information than the two averages requested. Don't create new fields or columns." error.

    1. You should have 1 row grouping, 1 column grouping, and 3 columns.
Do you have more than this?

    2. I can't get this error to go away, The 'Temperature to kWh Research' report shows more information than the two averages requested. Don't create new fields or columns. In the outline I have temperature range grouped in column rows and then "killowatt hours" and "panel temperature" in the bottom columns section. Both of those are set to average. I don't get what I'm doing wrong.

  5. I cannot seem to fix this error, can you please help?

The 'Top Case Drivers by SolarBot Ownership' report doesn't display data aggregated first by SolarBot Ownership then by Case Reason.

I have tried grouping rows first by ownership, then by reason. I have also tried grouping rows by ownership and columns by reason, and vice versa.

  6. I'm hoping you can help me with this because I've been stuck for two days on step 6. This is the error I'm getting: "Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can't find a graph displaying the requested data on the 'SolarBot Status Averages' report."

The only change I made to the report after the last step was to group the Status Date by week.

However, I have a line graph with:
Chart Title: Weekly Panel Temperature and kWh
X-Axis: Status Date (grouped by calendar week)
Y-Axis: Average Panel Temperature (which is a summary formula column)
Measure: Average Kilowatt Hours (also a summary formula column)

I can't figure out why it thinks the graph doesn't show the requested date. Here's what the section calls for: "Second, they want a graph for this report called Weekly Panel Temperature and kWh that shows average panel temperature and average kilowatt hours as lines over time."

I appreciate any help you can give!
    Amy

  7. Hi,

There is this error in step 3 , which I am not able to resolve:
Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
We can’t find the categorization called 'SolarBot Ownership', or the categorization is based on an incorrect field, or the category settings are incorrect on the 'Top Case Drivers by SolarBot Ownership' report.

    My bucket column conditions are:
    *Field
    Number of SolarBots

    *Bucket Name
    SolarBot Ownership

    Range
    Bucket
    <=0
    No SolarBots

    > 0 to 3
    Some SolarBots

    >3
    Several SolarBots

The rows are then grouped by 'SolarBot Ownership' and 'Case Reason' fields

Atlast, I've saved the report in 'Status Reports' folder, which is a sub-folder of 'Support Team'.
Can you please help me to figure out where am I going wrong?

  8. I am stuck on this part and have been for days. I am getting the message:

"Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong: We can’t find a report with name 'Temperature to kWh Research' using the correct report type."

Now I accidentally did the Executives section first then went back to complete this portion and when I check the properties of the report the unique id says: "Temperature_to_kWh_Research_CrA," could the _CrA be causing this error or am I just having a major brain fart?

Can you point me in the right direction here?

    Please help

    1. The good news- It is likely not the Unique ID causing this issue. (The process to assign a unique API name to a report has changed since the writing of this article.)

The most likely scenario is that your report type is incorrec.t
Here's a hint: Something and Something Data.

The 'SolarBot High-Case Candidates' report doesn't include the correct collection of accounts or shows the wrong information about them."

I have done everything right and I really do not see what else to do. I even contacted trailhead help but they said there is no bug or any error.

Grouped rows by: account name (sort by record count, descending), phone (sort by record count/phone, ascending/descending)
Fields: subject, open, close [also tried using just status field instead of open, close. also tried status, open, close fields together].
Filters: default filters, number of solarbots = 0
Total no. of records = 26

Part of doing the Service Cloud Specialist superbadge is trying new things, so I am putting up picture of new things that I've tried recently.  One of my favorite new things this week was taking a shower with my whole block collection.  Mom put me in the shower, and I sneaked out to grab the block bin and dumped it in.  I'm concerned to share photos because of the slight nudity, however, I can assure you that it was a glorious adventure.  Instead, I'll share my favorite Saturday new thing- walking to the coffee shop for a sprinkle donut!  Back to the superbadge... A confession - I know next to nothing about service cloud.  While I was excited that a new superbadge was available, it made me a little nervous that I had to do all of the prerequisites and tackle new things like macros.  New things - new year - let's get started!
