Selling with Sales Cloud Specialist Superbadge - part 1!


Selling with Sales Cloud Specialist: A Superbadge so simple that I let my baby brother help! (Until we got to step 7... more on that later!)   The key to this superbadge is organization! The data entry is not difficult, but there are a ton of little requirements that are easy to skip.  Here's how to do it right the first time:
  1. Open the data entry spreadsheet in a new window.  If you have multiple monitors.... open it in a new monitor! (My mom's home office has 3 monitors, so we snuck in there while she was busy cooking dinner.) 
  2. The highlight function is your best friend - as each record is entered, highlight the data entered so that you KNOW that the record is fully in Salesforce.  It was easy to overlook the employee count!  
  3. Double check each record against the requirement list to make sure that you are creating the correct type of record.  Example: before typing in any of the "current pending deals," I made a new column on my spreadsheet to indicate if this should be a lead or a contact/account/opportunity.  
Need to create a quote?  Remember to Sync the quote and take note of the little blue button below.....

  1. What a great journey to start down - SuperBadges are serious business! At Dreamforce, I learned about the "Tab Resize" Google Chrome Extension - super for when you're not working with multiple monitors and working on Trailhead Modules. Can't wait to see what happened at step 7!

  3. Stuck... Part 6. "We couldn't find the second quote for the JobSwell deal record. Please double-check if the quote was created according to the requirements, including taxes, discounts, and handling fees. Please make sure you followed the instructions from the "Your Phone Rings" section."

    I have created a New Quote on the original JobSwell Opportunity. Same product = Installation: Industrial - High, Discount of 5% (Quote Line Item has sale price of $85k @ 10 quantity , applied a 10%Tax ($85k), $250 shipping (flat). The original quote is still present on the opprotunity

    I have saved the quote as pdf and emailed quote to my personal email address.

    Thoughts?

    1. Sync the new quote with the opportunity. (If that doesn't do the trick, just let me know...but I'd bet on this.)

    2. AND check your tax number. Tax is a % of the total price..... which is not $850k.

    3. Oh My Gosh!!!! THAT WAS IT. Yes, I've been stuck and have revisited this so many times. I can't believe I've missed that. It was the TAX!!! The tax. I didn't get an email that you posted a reply. Came here to see if maybe there were some other tips added. Embarrassed but RELIEVED to have this done. So simple!! The tax is % of the TOTAL price. I was not using the total. THANK YOU so much for directing me on this so "simple" fix. Happy new year!!

      We could find at least one duplicate record for Sally Helios. Please ensure that we don't have any duplicates, according to the requirements.

      I am getting this error, while checking i found no Sally Helios. Can anyone have any idea?

    6. I think it is a flaw. I ran into the same error. Solution was to create a contact Sally, make a call-task for tomorrow, and check the challenge...

  4. Any tips on Stage 4?? I can't get past the flag "We couldn't find the record for Fiberwear".

    Been stuck for days. I only see it as a lead, it does not meet criteria to convert. Trailhead Baby help me! lol.

    2. Setup > Quick Find > Mass Delete Records > Mass Delete Leads > Query based on Company name or Lead Status> Permanently Delete the Leads which you have converted by mistake. Just have single record for required Leads.

  5. Hello :) I got stuck at step 6 with this error:
    We couldn't find the correct information for the Daily Bakery Opportunity. Please ensure you update the Daily Bakery Opportunity based on the phone call you received, according to the requirements.
    I have done all the required step though... What could be a potential miss out :/ ? (I own the record which means I am assigned to it . Then the values are all set and I did change the stage to closed won...) Any hint would be appreciated :)

    1. Double check the field values- stage, close date, revenue... and that an email was sent. (My bet is that the email was missed)

  6. Hello ! xD I finally found the solution yiha! Turns out I just had to name the account ''Daily Bakery'' and not ''The Daily Bakery''. It is crazy how such tiny details can blow up your brains sometimes haha. Thank you so much for your follow up and for your blog.

    1. You should post in CHATTER mentioning "@On Site Evaluations" group on "La Z Tag" Opportunity. After that you must create an event on public calender and assign that to the "Opportunity" instead of "Account".

  12. I struck with 2,Start Selling with Sales Cloud
    even though I created new Developer edition and connected to Challenge.

    ERROR: Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
    Make sure that you created your org using the sign-up link. That org contains all the preconfiguration required for this superbadge.

    2. you have to create a new Quote with this product and delete the old one just in this Quote. Then edit the Tax to $80,750.00. The Grand Total should be $888,500.00 at the end. Then Create a pdf and send an Email to the contact ssteel@jobswell.com. Don't forget to sync

    3. My grand total is $888,500.00 but i got the same error over and over again. The only thing I cant modify is the discount field on the Quote. I did it manually on the Product.

  21. Hello, Everything went well until the part 6 of the challenge :
    "Challenge Not yet complete... here's what's wrong:
    We found an incorrect record for Carewell Homes. Please ensure that you properly create the record for Travis Stott at Carewell Homes."
    I first enter Travis Stott as a contact of Carewell Homes but it did not work so I delete it from mass delete. Then I created a lead, it didn't work so I convert the lead into opportunity using the existing Account Carewell Homes. It didn't work. I delete the opportunity and the converted lead and check whether there was a Stott remaining. So I decided to go to campaign where there is a Tradeshow and create a new contact from this campaign but it did not work. Do you have any idea of what I have missed to be still stuck ? Thanks

A confession - I know next to nothing about service cloud.  While I was excited that a new superbadge was available, it made me a little nervous that I had to do all of the prerequisites and tackle new things like macros.  New things - new year - let's get started! (Right after I finish guitar practice) If you are also a service cloud novice, the Omni-Channel Basics is a crucial prerequisite even though it is not officially required.
