Financial Services Cloud Specialist Superbadge - Prework and Configuration



Money is on my mind... I would like a garbage truck Lego set that I spotted on Amazon this week, but Mom says that I need to do chores to earn money to buy it.  It is a difficult concept - usually I just ask for things, and they show up.  Mom has never mentioned chores when I kindly point out that we are out of pull ups or ice cream.... However, she insists that I earn the garbage truck by doing chores.  

With this in mind, I decided to start on the Financial Services Cloud Specialist Superbadge.  I learned from the pre-work modules that I can set a life event, establish my household...etc.  These seem like good steps to take in order to show Mom that yes, we should buy this garbage truck... And perhaps I will do some chores as well.  I am sure that the dog needs a bath and the rugs need to be vacuumed. 


Most Superbadges do not have crucial information in the pre-work! This badge is an exception.

Create new users, clone profiles, assign permission sets.... This is easy for an admin!
The custom metadata requirement is a bit more challenging, but fortunately, there is help in this article. Click on the image to link to the article... and you might want to skip to "Configure Person Account Record Types."  


Ready to build a FSC Wealth Management app?


Just in case you do not want to flip back and forth between your new app and the Wealth Management app... Here's a screenshot of the tabs.  You're welcome! The instructions did not say specifically who should access the app, but it is a safe assumption that you will want to see it plus any of the FSC profiles.  



Tiny "oops" in this challenge will result in handful of helpful error message such as:

Argh! The same issue.  Here is a new thing for Trailhead Baby: There are two home page icons.
One has an "alarm clock" image.  The other, the standard "house."

      > Setup > Custom Metadata Types > Individual Record Type Mapper > Manage Individual Record Type Mappers > New. Under Label and Account Record Type, enter 'Gold Client'. Got stuck here for quite some time. Hope this helps.

Service Cloud Specialist Superbadge - 1,2,3

A confession - I know next to nothing about service cloud.  While I was excited that a new superbadge was available, it made me a little nervous that I had to do all of the prerequisites and tackle new things like macros.  New things - new year - let's get started! (Right after I finish guitar practice) If you are also a service cloud novice, the Omni-Channel Basics is a crucial prerequisite even though it is not officially required.
